Honeymoon Blues Part 1

The two week honeymoon was like icing on top of the wedding cake. After all the wedding planning, and going through all the wedding emotional stages before the big day, having a honeymoon to look forward to gives you excitement all over again.

While it can be a bit overwhelming trying to plan a big trip while also planning a wedding, just think of your honeymoon as the light at the end of the planning tunnel. This is the point where you can throw away all of those wedding venue pictures, catering estimates, seating charts, and just enjoy being married!

I don’t know if we’ll ever be able to stay in a resort that tops this one. The second we were able to catch our breath from the views of our luxury villa, we knew this was the perfect honeymoon destination.  I have never felt more pampered and relaxed in my entire life. Sugar Beach Resort sits directly between two pitons, Gros Piton and Petit Piton. When we arrived at our villa number 315, our bulters had two coconut spice drinks waiting for us.

Every single morning, we woke up in the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. The white decor surrounded the entire villa. We couldn’t wait to open the shutter doors to reveal the breathtaking view of the Piton Mountain & Sugar Beach.

The crystal blue waters, and soft powdery sand made St. Lucia feel like a scene from a movie. The rain forecast tropical weather was perfect. Each day began on the beach, and ended with late nights on the hammock rocking back in forward while the wind blew silently against us. We talked about our future together and truly lived in the moment. (Magical Right… lol). We enjoyed the creole style food, we can’t forget about the mouth- watering desserts, and it was enough to steal our hearts forever.

On the third day of our honeymoon, we wanted to try something different so we decided to go Snorkeling and Kayaking. If you’ve never done this before please put Snorkeling on your “To-Do” list. We could not get the hang of Kayaking but it was still fun trying something new.

One of the real treats of Sugar Beach is the Rainforest Spa. A gorgeous enclave in the heart of the rainforest. The Spa is located in a assortment of seven treehouse-style treatment rooms, different levels are connected by raised wooden walkways.

Let me just say that this was……

ONE OF THE BEST MASSAGES I’VE EVER HAD IN MY 31 YEARS OF LIFE….

OUT ON THE TOWN

We ventured out from the resort to a local town named Soufriere, it’s pretty much the backdrop of the Pitons. The name “Soufriere” is French for “sulphur,” it’s known for their hot spring and mineral baths.

LUNCH @ MARIE’S LOCAL CUISINE

While visiting Soufriere, we stopped by a local restaurant called Marie’s Local Cuisine. We had the chance to meet the owner Marie, she came to our table with the biggest smile in began to talk to us about the town. She told us how she starts her day every morning at around 4:30 am. In order to have fresh meat in the restaurant, she walks to the local meat market to buy her meat each day. Everything is made from scratch & she loves cooking. Blessings to you Marie

Our honeymoon in St. Lucia was unforgettable. I’m so glad we chose to stay at the Sugar Beach Resort, it was an incredible five star luxury experience.

It was such a surreal feeling being in such a beautiful place. We will always cherish this tropical paradise.
