The bridge is well over 100 years old and one of the city’s many iconic sights. We started on the Brooklyn side so we could enjoy the view of the Manhattan skyline. Below, you can see why. It’s incredible!. All around you there is a buzz of activity. The pier harbors rows of boats and barges being loaded an unloaded on the river. The bridge itself sees a constant stream of bikers, which you come very close to at the start of the pedestrian walkway of the bridge.
As much as this is a tourists haven, it was very busy with tons of people it was a bit overwhelming- so we were sure to take a deep breath, admire the architecture, and live in the moment on the bridge. We spent around an hour and a half walking across the bridge, from Brooklyn to Manhattan.
