My Trip to Grand Turk: Turks & Caicos Island

As you all know Marcus and I just celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary. Woot!!! Marcus and I try to go all out to make every vacation, dare I say….INCREDIBLE! Since we did a two week vacation for our honeymoon, we decided to make it a tradition to vacay for 10 days each year during our anniversary. I’ve been on a cruise before, and had a ball…but it’s never been my cup of tea. I’d much rather fly directly to the island to enjoy the culture, venture out with the locals, and visit the not so “touristy” places on the island.

This experience changed my perspective and I am SO glad we chose this cruise, it was by far one of our BEST vacations ever!  There is nothing like traveling with people you know and love.  We had the pleasure of cruising with three other married couples on the Carnival Vista for 8 nights. We had a great time visiting some amazing islands such as Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos Islands , Dominican Republic , Curaçao, and Aruba.

Today I’m sharing all the details from one of our first stops on the trip: Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos Island!

Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos Island was the first stop on our cruise, and I am already daydreaming about going back! The beaches are beautiful – the water is crystal clear and gives you all the tropical vibes you need to complete your summer.  The beach was literally walking distance from the ship port…along with shopping areas, live music, and food.

With only a few hours to spend in Grand Turk, we decided to leave the crystal clear water and head out for a relaxing day at the enormous Grand Turks Cruise Center. The Grand Turk Cruise Center was created by Carnival Cruises and its partners in 2006, it’s one of the nicest cruise centers to be found in the Caribbean. The facility is clean, easy to navigate, and provides cruise ship passengers with a variety of food and shopping experiences.

After doing a little shopping, we headed over to Margaritaville for what would become one epic pool party! When we first stepped into the bar, you could hear the Caribbean music blasting from the speakers. From the moment we walked in, we knew we were going to have a great time at this bar. This place had a huge pool that everyone enjoyed and it included a fun swim-up bar.  From the drinks(good prices and make sure you tip the bartender for more alcohol – you’re welcome) to the fresh DJ, this is definitely the place to party!

Its 5 o’clock somewhere and I’m glad we had a chance to experience Margaritaville in Grand Turk!
